Unique Learning and Networking Event for Marketers Hits Huntington
Next Generation Marketing: Achieving growth, loyalty and return on marketing investment
May 9, 2008

(Huntington, W. Va.) – Business owners, marketing executives and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to attend a unique, customized marketing training workshop next week. The workshop is custom designed to help busy executives harness the power and leverage the opportunities of Web 2.0 marketing tactics and techniques.

Next Generation Marketing is unique in many aspects. First, it is a collaborative project between three would-be competitors. Leaders from the three companies met last year as a result of West Virginia: A Vision Shared and the CreateWV project. The co-collaborators include Jeff James of Mythology LLC (Charleston); Justin Seibert of Direct Online Marketing (Wheeling); and Skip Lineberg of Maple Creative, LLC (Charleston). “I guess you could say that the three of us share a common philosophy and bring a common approach to marketing,” offered Justin Seibert, president and CEO of Direct Online Marketing, a full service marketing firm that specializes in paid search marketing and search engine optimization.

The workshop is also unique in the sense that, while it addresses and examines several of the newfangled marketing strategies, it brings an old-school approach with regard to business discipline. “Many people think that marketing is void of accountability,” observed Skip Lineberg, chief creative officer for Maple Creative, a full-service marketing firm that provides research-based strategic marketing solutions. “Thanks to the Internet and especially the advent of many Web 2.0 tools, there has never been a more opportune time to create marketing programs that are fully accountable.”

The final aspect of the uniqueness of Next Generation Marketing is its “Rock Star” element. The organizers have included some of the state’s most successful and highly accomplished marketing executives as guest speakers. Jeff James, CEO of Mythology, a marketing management and growth strategy consulting firm, explained, “We want our participants to really understand the applications for this new generation of marketing tactics and to truly embrace it. Rather than simply hearing from marketing consultants, like the three of us, we wanted participants to also get the straight scoop from successful folks from the private sector. That’s why we’re thrilled to have Elizabeth, Bill and Brad as our ‘Rock Stars.’” Those “marketing rock stars” presently include the following: Elizabeth Pellegrin – chief marketing officer of CAMC; Bill Rock – president and CEO of Snowshoe Mountain Resort; and Brad Howe – assist athletic director of West Virginia University. The originators are expecting that list to grow.

Those interested in attending should call (877) 858-0982 or go online to www.MarketingConference.org to learn more and to register to attend. A few seats remain, but guests are encouraged to register before Noon on Monday, May 12, 2008.
