I'd argue that NYE isn't as bad as it could or used to be due to the fact that most pubs/bars require tickets and that, in turn, stops pub crawls. You have a find a place and settle down for the evening. The Daily Mail is hell bent on reporting that Britain has gone to the dogs - which it has in quite a few respects, but the frightening thing is that it isn't nearly as bad as it could be!
