We believe in an open Web and furthering conversation and welcome comments from all real human beings that wish to leave them. We approve almost all real comments that we see, although we reserve the right to remove or edit comments that fall in the following categories:
- Spam. That includes you, manual link builder. Also, be aware we’re doing nofollows on your links, not that that’s the only way to judge the value of a link.
- Fake name. We’re not talking about putting in your full name – use your twitter handle or whatever you’d like. But if you’re calling yourself, say, “internet marketing Vancouver,” we’re not approving you. Or we’ll approve you and remove your link just for giggles.
- Profanity. This is a commercial site, so let’s keep the vulgarity out or down to a minimum.
- Personal attacks. Attacking ideas is great. Sometimes flaming a person or company can be appropriate, but let’s not make this a third grade schoolyard.
- Other. Anything else in our sole discretion that we feel could get us in trouble or brings down the value of our blog to our visitors. This is just a catch-all to cover ourselves. The number of non-spam comments we edit or don’t approve is extremely low.
If you’ve left a comment that adds to the conversation and it isn’t appearing, shoot us an email. We’ll take a look and get back to you. You never know what gets caught in our spam filter.
