@ wvuWorried - Thanks for the update! Looks like if they stopped letting people comment on Mike Garrison's blog for awhile, they've started it back up again. Are you saying they actually closed off commenting, meaning you could not physically enter one in, or just that new comments weren't appearing for awhile?

There can be legitimate reasons for editing or even disapproving comments (e.g. profanity), which is very possible in this case given the emotions involved. Also, keep in mind that they're letting through quite a few very anti-Garrison comments.

I hope that they're being very, very selective in editing / removing, and censoring comments, though, given the lack of trust so many people are expressing.

Finally, as to your last question about the handling of the situation, well.... Again, talking about it on the blog is great - truly - but the purpose is dialogue and no one's really come back to address any of the concerns.

If you want to see a great example of where a company started addressing folks through a blog and just got hammered, but is addressing those concerns and actually taking part in the conversation to improve things for everyone, I encourage you to check out eBay's blog: http://www.ebayinkblog.com.

Here's an interesting tidbit about Mike's blog that you describe above--not only has he not responded to any of the comments, but the blog comments were apparently heavily edited/censored, with comments disappearing at a fairly fast rate. Today, the ability to comment on the posting was closed, interestingly enough after a post reminding us of the guidelines for commenting and describing the importance of debate and discussion, and how much our comments were valued! Can they manage this any worse?
