You’d think that without cable TV and an over-the-air antenna that only manages to pick up a desperately fuzzy local Fox station but a decent HD ABC, our household had an ideological position against lowest common denominator television.
Far from it – we just get the lowest common denominator TV that we want, when we want it.
With PlayOn we have streaming Hulu to our TV via Xbox and with a UK VPN service we can get live UK TV plus as much catch-up as you’d want via any computer and streamed through our Xbox extender.
The only live American TV that ever gets an airing is that there American Idol.
It’s the wife, honest.

The Trials and Tribulations of Starting a Business Blog »

It took me forever and a day to get into blogging. I had ample opportunity considering my best buddy had been badgering me about them for a good year as he set the tone in the UK political blogosphere. Seriously, I couldn’t care less.
I think I finally took a peek out of loyalty and guilt more than anything and I still wasn’t feeling it. I don’t recall scales falling from the eyelids or choirs. But, at least I could tell him I’d read it. From here on in he would send me the occasional post like mates do about stuff. He wasn’t trying to get me into blogging so much as get me into what he was talking about. I’ve no idea which particular post flipped the switch but one day I left a comment.

Don’t be an Outrageous Waster »

Every time I turn the TV on I’m confronted by some British TV actor who seems to have made a B-line for the states and looks headed to be the next flavor of the month.
I can never take House seriously due to the fact that its hobbling star, Hugh Laurie, used to be in a comedy double act and was almost typecast as a fey aristocratic twit.
Last night I decided to watch the pilot of the newest version of Bionic Woman; and gor blimey guv’nor, if it wasn’t the ex-Eastenders soap starlet Michelle Ryan camping it up in the lead role.
She’ll probably be back for the Christmas Eastenders special.
