Google Places recently redid their verification postcards and made them a lot more user-friendly.  This comes along with their push to get greater adoption of Places Pages and – especially – Tags.  On the latter end, they’re hiring out independent contractors to act as their sales reps and make outbound calls.  Very interesting they didn’t hire reps as actual employees.
