Are you an entrepreneur or a business owner who wants to convert personal Twitter to a business account? If the answer is “Yes” – you have come to the right place.

Whether you are a new business setting up fresh on Twitter or already have your Twitter account and wish to switch to a business account, here is a quick guide to help you.

4-Step Guide to Change Personal Twitter Account to a Business Account

If you already have a Twitter account for personal use, you can easily use it for business purposes by merely tweaking some settings and updating your information on it. All Twitter accounts offer the same functionalities; however, the business account has its benefits.

The most significant benefit of a business Twitter account is the capability to retain your existing followers. Therefore, if you already have a lot of followers, it is a win-win situation for you. Here are four critical and straightforward steps to convert your Twitter profile from personal to business.

Step 1: Logging In

Did we say it was easy? Yes, so all you need to do is log in using your username and password.

Step 2: Switching To Business Name

Once you log in on your Twitter profile on the home page, you will see a circle icon near your profile picture – click on it.

You will click on “privacy and settings,” this will take you to a page where you can change your personal information such as your user name, business location, designated email address, and more.

It is now time to change your username to your business name, also known as “Twitter handle.” When deciding what name to choose for your Twitter handle, make sure to include as much of your business name as possible.

If someone else has already taken your business or brand name, you can use your business name’s abbreviation but keep it simple.

Step 3: Editing the Details

It is time to start editing your details. Go to your profile and start updating the important information your followers and other Twitter users will see when they land on your Twitter profile page.

Once on your profile page, click on “edit profile” and start making changes; this option is available on your screen’s right-hand side. First, you must replace your profile picture with your brand’s logo, business building, or a professional headshot.

The idea is to keep your profile relevant to your business. If you are your business’s face, it is a good idea to use a professional-looking picture of yourself. However, if you are an employee or a marketer working for a business, using a business’s logos and banners is more appropriate.

Feel free to change any other information you want Twitter users to see in your brand’s bio. Do not forget to set your business’ location, header photo, theme color, and website. One way to keep things straight forward and simple for the visitors and followers is by keeping your Twitter handle consistent with your Twitter name.

Step 4: Advertising

Congratulations! You have successfully changed your personal Twitter account to a business account.

Now, it is time to begin advertising. Share your new Twitter business account with your followers across all social networks. If they are already fond of your content and posts, they are more likely to follow you.

However, you must first ask yourself if creating a Twitter business account is the right business strategy.  Have some questions? Reach out to our team!
