I feel bad that we don’t talk about LinkedIn that much here on Found. It really can be pretty valuable and for some traditional / formal companies, it’s the only major social media network they use or would even consider. We often say that social media isn’t right for all organizations – and that includes LinkedIn.
But unlike networks like twitter and facebook, LinkedIn can have some value to a much wider array of businesses. That comes from its core focus on careers for both career seekers and hr departments. Those options just got even better today.
According to an email just sent to admins of LinkedIn groups:
LinkedIn has made some upgrades to the Jobs section of LinkedIn groups that will make it much easier for group members and group managers to share LinkedIn jobs specifically tailored to your group.
- Group owners and managers can set up a keyword based feed of LinkedIn jobs into the group.
- Group members can also share relevant jobs into the group.
- Organic postings from the old Groups “Jobs” tab are now in the Career discussions section.
We are excited about these changes. Be sure to visit the jobs section of your group and set up a targeted jobs feed for your group today. Best Regards,
The LinkedIn Team
The first two points are really key. By adding keyword-based feeds, group administrators can automate a way to provide even more useful information to its group members in the market for work. By letting group members post jobs, groups can get access to more quality jobs that are off the beaten path and recruiters can pound the virtual pavement even harder.
Kudos to LinkedIn.
